Kids Culture Film Series is at a crossroads and needs your help!
Vancity is unable to continue sponsorship but I would like to continue the series. I am willing to put up my own dollars again to make this happen but only if I feel I have a wide enough reach. I would like to cover my costs for each show at the least, with hopes of achieving fundraiser status from some. Word of mouth is simply the best. What I need is more people to ‘like’ Facebook.com/kidsculture, and more importantly, email addresses, especially from those with kids or like minded folks who love to promote community and cultural events that suit every generation. Getting the word out is the hardest part. If everyone is able to ask two friends, and so on, suddenly we have exponential results.
My challenge at the last screening was to get Kids Culture to 200+ likes on facebook and an additional 50+ email addresses. I am now at 186 ‘likes' and have 15 new emails. Thedeadline is April 30th. If I can reach this goal I pledge to continue!
The Poster Squad has offered their services free of charge to help me out—you can find them at facebook.com/thepostersquad. Gramma Publishing on the Drive continues to support me with posters at cost. Thank you!
Most of the shows manage to cover costs with a couple each year doing really well. For now I’ll be taking the ticket selling at schools out of the program—which is why I need the wider reach as I may not be approved to message directly to your PACs. I will continue to run this as non-profit so any proceeds will be going to my indispensable supporter, Reel 2 Real International Film Festival For Youth—who are also non-profit and bringing unique international programming to kids! If I do find myself making consistent windfall profits I will look at distributing it back to schools. Dreams are good :)
